Shrine to Blessed Franz Jaegerstaetter Created in the Shoalwater Bay Training Area
Andy Paine faithfully carried in the 10 kg large concrete angel. And in a suitable spot, he, Margaret and Rob Jones created the shrine to Blessed Franz Jaegerstaetter in the midst of Empire – in the Shoalwater Training Area. We included objects from Aotearoa peace work, a human rights badge from Billy French, some Blessed Franz holy cards and a book listing recent atrocities in Afghanistan.
We prayed for an end to war. We prayed for forgiveness for our own inadequacies in acting to end this war.
We prayed that others too might rise up in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ against injustice.
