Graeme Dunstan of Peace Bus, and Clair Hochstetler from Canberra put together an inaugural event that began at Mt Ainslie with the recognition of Aboriginal sovereignty and history, paraded past the Australian war Memorial, and reflected at Lake Burley Griffin. Hundreds turned out, and here are some pictures, taken by Terry Quinn.

Wonderful Wonderful Wonderful
Lord of Peace
Have mercy on us all
My heart lifts in gratitude for the actions on Easter/Anzac Eve and I feel a great promise of things to come.
Correction: the choir depicted is the Solidarity Choir not Ecopella, and we don’t know who Helen Bayes is, ‘though I’m sure she’s just lovely!
I wasn’t at the Anzac Eve Vigil, so the caption to the 8th photo is not correct. mY involvement was through the Good Friday evening Peace Vigil and Lantern Parade at Silver Wattle Quaker Centre, which Graeme led along the shore line of Weereewa (Lake George) to “The Island” where we sang and shared around a bonfire, surrounded by the beautiful lanterns that the children had made with Graeme and Marie during the afternoon. It was a wonderful ceremony for peace. Photos not yet loaded up anywhere.
